’s-Hertogenbosch, the capital of Brabant (also called Den Bosch), is one of the oldest medieval cities in the Netherlands. The maze of narrow streets is best explored on foot. Another option is to marvel at the picturesque bridges and perfectly preserved historical buildings from a small boat on the river Binnendieze. In the middle of the city you will find two museums, the Noordbrabants Museum and the Stedelijk Museum. Close by is the lovely Sint-Janskathedraal, presiding over the largest square of the city. It impresses through its size and enormous wealth of sculptures. Last but not least, make sure that when you visit Den Bosch, the local and famous delicacy is on your menu: a ‘Bossche Bol’ (chocolate ball)

Village of Nuenen: walk in the Footsteps of Vincent van Gogh

Friday August 11, 201710:0015:00€ 15,00info@vanfraassenbusreizen.nl

Walk in the footsteps of Vincent van Gogh. You can actually do that in Nuenen! What makes it so special is that you can see and experience the stories about Van Gogh, his letters and his paintings from the very same spot. In the Vincentre museum we can listen to stories about him and read his letters about Nuenen while he lived and worked here from 1883 to 1885. It was here that he painted The Potato Eaters. We get to know him as a person and we see how he developed to become a world-famous artist. We then go outside, where no fewer than 23 locations remind us of Van Gogh; 14 of which he painted or sketched. Other objects are statues or buildings with a special significance. Although there are no original paintings, our inner thoughts say it all: you can't get closer to Van Gogh.
